Searching for places to eat

Our simple search function gives you the ability search through our listings in three ways.  Each method can be used on its own or combined with the others for a narrower search:

a. You can search for restaurants and food vendors in Tehran by their Cuisine Type.  This means either by Nationality (i.e. Italian) or in some cases by Type of Food (i.e. Confectionery).

b. It is also possible to use the City Area box to define the City area you want to search through.

c. The third option is our search box where you can type in anything you want to find, whether it is a specific restaurant name or a particular food (i.e. Sushi).

Hand Picked Selection

The Gumboo Guide is a site where the listings are limited to a selection which we believe are either market leaders or unique and interesting.

Gumboo Reviews

The guideline for a Gumboo review is too extensive to mention here, but it is basically a measure of atmosphere, service, food quality and value for money.  Marks are given out of 10 with a heavy bias on food and service quality.

It is our aim to review all of the places we have listed to provide the site's visitors with our point of view, but this will take some time to accomplish.

Rankings

Our ranking system is determined by the number of votes given by our visitors for any particular place.  It is designed to give our readers an indication on how visitors to this site view each listing they vote for.

Remember, no ranking system can be as definitive as a personal experience.

User Reviews and Comments

Here at the Gumboo Guide we believe that no review is more important than that of our readers. This is why at the bottom of every page on our site we have provided a means for our readers to express their opinion.

All comments are first vetted in order to remove malicious, extreme or abusive comments.  It is our aim to refrain from any censorship, however we do reserve the right not to publish any comments we deem inappropriate to the spirit of the Gumboo Guide.
